The Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio recently received a $25,000 grant from the Global Health unit of the General Board of Global Ministries, the United Methodist Church's mission agency. The funds will be used specifically to purchase insulin and diabetes testing supplies for patients. When asked how the funding opportunity came about, Mariellyn Grace, a United Methodist missionary and the pharmacy's director of Patient Services, said, "I met the director of the Global Health unit at a training event, and she was looking for United Methodist organizations that help people get the medications they need. That fit perfectly with the mission of the Charitable Pharmacy - to provide Franklin County residents with access to affordable medications."
