Mission Minute: Priscilla Legay Jaiah
Reverend Priscilla Legay Jaiah is serving as a missionary in her home country of Liberia. Since 2009, Jaiah has served as the Principle of the United Methodist School in Ganta.
She is leading the efforts in helping rebuild the school which was damaged during the country's civil unrest in 2003.
Before her current assignment, Jaiah lived in neighboring Ghana for 8 years where she worked with a refugee ministry at the Buduburam, Liberia, Refugee Camp as well as with the Ghana Methodist Church. She has seen God at work through her mission.
What is mission?
Jaiah: “Mission is what you do to work to bring the love of God among people.”
Why is mission necessary?
Jaiah: “The world is one place and I feel being in mission in the world we are making connections and bringing people together. Mission is necessary to build relationships, and to tell the story of who we are and who made us, and how we are one group of people.”
