Formed from historic streams that included the Holiness Movement, the Methodist Episcopal Church and the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, the Methodist Church of Malaysia came into being in 1976 when Singapore and Malaysia became separate nations.
Reflecting the ethnic and linguistic diversity of the country, the Malaysian church is comprised of six annual conferences: the Sarawak Iban Annual Conference (SIAC), the Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference (SCAC), the Tamil Annual Conference (TAC), the Chinese Annual Conference (CAC) and the Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC), English-speaking.
