This year’s School of Congregational Development will be in Denver from Thursday, August 15, to Sunday, August 18. With great input from the Mountain Sky Episcopal Area and leaders from the Western Jurisdiction, participants will enjoy a number of innovative experiences as well as benefit from some of the hallmarks of previous schools.
After the opening worship with Bishop Elaine JW Stanovky, you will have the opportunity to explore two spiritual practices during a time we call Encounters.

Friday morning will start with a plenary about the impact that second generation children of immigrants can have in your ministry, as you learn from Ruben Saenz from the Southwest Texas Annual Conference.
The rest of the day will be devoted to Ministry Tracks, your chance to learn specific strategies and plans for vitalizing your ministry.
Saturday starts off with a 4-hour Seminar that will help you learn the principles and ideas to develop a specific aspect of your congregational life or will give you an opportunity to focus on strategies for leading ministry with a specific racial ethnic group.
Saturday afternoon begins with a Plenary from Charles Lee, the author of Good Idea, Now What? His focus will be to give you detailed guidelines for moving your ideas from the thought phase to implementation.
Later that afternoon you will hear two big ideas during the IdeaMart when you will learn from innovative leaders from the Denver area and from United Methodist agency staff.
The Celebration Dinner and Worship led by Jasmine Smothers, from the North Georgia Conference, will give you time to reflect and rejoice in God’s call for your life.
