In 1992, UMCOR began a program of "in-kind" resourcing to provide critically needed items to areas of the world that had been impacted by disaster. Today, emergency and disaster relief supplies are collected, verified, and distributed from the two UMCOR depots in Louisiana and Utah to victims in the United States and around the world.
Goals & Objectives
As disasters occur, respond to the needs of survivors as we are called to do.
We have volunteers serving at UMCOR Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, Louisiana and at the UMCOR West Office and Depot in Salt Lake City, Utah year round. The volunteers receive and sort the donations sent to the depots and then verify the accuracy of each kit. The kits are then boxed and prepared for shipment in response to disasters worldwide. When disaster strikes, the kits are hand loaded by volunteers onto shipping containers that are sent to affected areas.
