After the reestablishment of The United Methodist Church in Lithuania, we have created Sunday Schools and youth groups in each local church. We have organized many camps for the kids (for kids we have had six district summer camps and nine summer camps for children in local churches) and youth. We have organized many training seminars for the Sunday school teachers (two training seminars per year for Sunday school teachers-total of 16 seminars) and youth leaders (one seminar per year).
Goals & Objectives
1. Inviting children and youth into a faith relationship with Jesus Christ. 2. Providing a safe environment for at-risk children and youth whose parents suffer from addiction and abuse. 3. Preparing children and youth for future leadership in the life of UMC.
1. We will recruit volunteers to help hold these camps who will serve as shepherds and camp leaders from our local churches and partner churches in the U.S. and Europe. 2. We will train the volunteers for team leadership and in "safe sanctuary" skills. 3. We will develop a curriculum for each camp that is "faith based," to help grow the children and youth in their faith relationship. 4. We will follow up the camp experience with invitations for children and youth to participate in church school and youth programs in our local churches.
