The Current Program: US-2s and Mission Interns

The US-2 program is a domestic, 24 month, mission-service program for adults in the United States, ages 20-30. US-2s are trained for three weeks with fellow young adult missionaries and serve with Methodist partnered organizations throughout the US. Duration: July 2013 – July 2015.

The Mission Intern program is now a 25 month, mission-service program for adults from around the world, ages 20-30. Mission Interns are trained for three weeks with fellow young adult missionaries, serve with Methodist partnered organizations in another country for 20 months, and integrate their international mission experience in their home country for 2 and a half months. Duration: July 2013 – August 2015.

Coming in 2014: Generation Transformation

Generation Transformation includes a variety of opportunities for young adults to serve others through Global Ministries. Programs such as Global Justice Volunteers, Individual Volunteers, and Global Mission Fellows give individuals between 18 and 30 years old opportunities to explore their call to ministry and service.

The Global Mission Fellows program is a leadership development and mission service opportunity that allows young adults age 20 through 30 to take part in mission and social justice ministries in both international and domestic contexts. The program, building upon Global Ministries’ historic US-2 and Mission Intern programs, is now open to young adults outside of the US to participate in mission service abroad and in their own home country.*

Global Mission Fellows serving internationally participate in a 25-month cycle of service--approximately 23 months in an international setting followed by two months of integrating their experience into a domestic setting. Global Mission Fellows serving within their country engage in service for two years with United Methodist partner organizations.

Look for more information here soon.

* The last cohort of US-2 and Mission Interns complete their service in the summer of 2015.
